Bishop urges electorate not to be influenced by gift

Adweso (E/R), April 17, GNA -- The Bishop of Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church, the Most Reverend Joseph K. Atto-Brown, has declared that it is a sin before God for any one to allow his vote to be influenced by gifts.

He, therefore, called on Ghanaians to pray for God's guidance to vote for people whom God has blessed with divine wisdom to help solve problems facing the country.

Bishop Atto-Brown was delivering a sermon during a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a new Chapel for the Calvary Methodist Church at Adweso, near Koforidua, on Palm Sunday.

He said Ghana is going through some difficulties and urged Christians to use the occasion to call on God to save the country as the Jews called on Jesus Christ to save them on Easter Palm Sunday in the olden days.

Bishop Ato-Brown said the problems the country was facing should not be blamed on the present government because they have been with Ghana over the years.

The Bishop urged Christians to strengthen their faith in God and resist sin.
