Bishop calls on Ghanaians to unite

Nkwanta (V/R), Feb. 3, GNA- The Right Reverend Gabriel Mantey, Catholic Bishop of the Jasikan Diocese, on Wednesday called on Ghanaians to unity for accelerated growth.

He said development would elude a country whose citizens were always in arms against one another, adding that war drives away potential investors.

Rt. Rev Gabriel Mantey, was speaking at the commissioning of the Micro Finance Insitute (WAD-MFI), a unit of Women and Development Project (WADEP), in Nkwanta in the Nkwanta District of the region. He urged Ghanaians to work hard to sustain the peace being enjoyed to ensure economic development.

Bishop Mantey appealed to the District Assembly to work closely with WAD-MFI to enable the Unit assist the people undertake economic activities.

Mr Joseph Denteh, Nkwanta DCE, lamented over the issue of expensive funerals in the District instead of saving for the future and expressed the hope that with the inauguration of WAD-MFI, the story would change.
