Birim South district schools receive stationery

Madam Priscilla Budu, the founder of the EBZ Foundation, a civil society organization, has donated educational items to five schools in the Birim South District in the Eastern Region.

The material, worth GH?1,800.00, includes exercise books and mathematical sets.

The beneficiary schools are Aduasa D/A Junior High School (JHS), Adiembra Roman Catholic JHS, Apoli D/A JHS, Yawsewuro D/A JHS and Babiaraneha JHS.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview during the presentation of the items, Madam Budu said the donation forms part of her annual gifts to schools in the area.

She said the foundation, which was established in 2014, focuses on the education of underprivileged female students.

Madam Budu advised the students to take their learning seriously, as her organization "would do everything possible to support them in their education."

She said: “Education brings beauty to a woman and also without that development cannot thrive.”

She announced that the programme would be extended to the Denkyembour District, also in the Eastern Region, and asked other organizations and associations to join hands with her to shape the lives of female students.

Mr Eric Allonson, the Akim Swedru Circuit Education Supervisor, on behalf of the Birim South District Education Director, expressed gratitude to the Founder of the EBZ Foundation for the donation.

He appealed to other benevolent organisations to emulate the example of Madam Budu to enhance teaching and learning in the district.
