The Birim North District Chief Executive, Mr Raymond Damptey has presented 800 school desks to the District Education Directorate for distribution to 20 basic schools in the District.

Presenting the desks to the education directorate, Mr Damptey said the presentation was to help solve the shortage of desks in some schools in the District.

He indicated that the Assembly was going to provide more desks until all the schools have enough to promote teaching and learning.

Mr Damptey called on parents to support their wards to complement the efforts of teachers and government to shape the lives of the children.

The Deputy Director Finance and Administration at the Birim North Education Directorate, Mr Sebastian Awumey, who received the desks on behalf of the schools, said the presentation of the items came at the right time when most schools in the District were faced with furniture problems.
