Better Ghana Agenda spreading like wildfire- Minister

The Eastern Regional Minister has said the people of the region have embraced government’s Better Ghana Agenda because of the numerous developmental projects it has rolled out in all major sectors of the economy, over the last three and half years.

Ambassador Victor Smith noted that government’s initiation of over five thousand projects in the region, especially in the education, health, and commerce, has prompted such massive support for the government.

“God is indeed doing wonders in the Eastern Region and our Better Ghana Agenda message is being felt and accepted across the region like a wildfire,” Ambassador Smith revealed.

The Minister who made the remark during President Mahama’s ‘thank you tour’ and maiden visit to the Eastern Region as Head of State, on behalf of the people of the region, congratulated the president on his elevation sought God's guidance for his administration.

He also said President Mills’ humility, peaceful nature, and the love he showed his country engendered the level of grieving and mourning that transcended even political barriers, adding, “a man of glory has indeed passed on to glory and his memory will linger on”.

President Mahama’s tour of the Eastern Region further took him through Suhum where he briefly addressed an enthusiastic crowed on the need for Ghanaians to contribute to peace as the 2012 elections approach.

President Mahama further explained that by Ghanaian customs and traditions, it was not proper to call chiefs on phone or merely send them letters of appreciation as has been suggested by political opponents, hence his nationwide tour to show appreciation.

The President also interacted with contractors on the Suhum road where he urged them to speed up work, saying “this road plays a very important role in linking our two major cities (Accra and Kumasi)” and further advised motorists and other road users to cooperate with the contractors to ensure the success of the project.
