CEO of GN Foods, a manufacturing company involved in the production of high-quality tomato paste brands for the local and export market and co-founder of LittleBigSouls, a charity organization that provides care for preterm babies born in Africa, Edith Uyovbukerhi has been unveiled as the 2018 Vlisco brand ambassador.

At a brief unveiling ceremony held in Accra on Thursday, Mrs. Edith Uyovbukerhi spoke about her charity, LittleBigSouls and the work that she is doing in the lives of babies born prematurely and their mothers.

“Being born prematurely is not a death sentence but the fact that we are unable to replicate the environment as in the womb for the baby that is how come we lose them,” she said.

According to her, about hundred and forty babies are born prematurely in Ghana annually and more than half lose their lives.

“What really drives me is that the location of birth should not determine the survival of the baby, it should never be but that is what happens to us in Africa,” she said.

She said, her role as the new Vlisco ambassador will help her reach a lot more people and create awareness on how babies should not lose their lives base on the location they are born.

The event was held at the Vlisco Boutique in the Accra Mall
