Beauticians Attend Seminar

Winneba (Central Region), 4 Nov., Fifty-five executive members of the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (GHABA) drawn from the 12 districts in the Central Region, have ended a day's seminar on the appropriate use of chemicals, at Winneba. Addressing the closing session, the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Chief Executive, Lieutenant Daniel William Osardu (rtd), appealed to the public to assist registered members of the association to offer quality and safe service to their customers. He said since the use of unapproved chemicals or expired ones could cause cancer and other skin diseases, it behoves the public to help the association weed out the 'bad nuts' whose operations pose a threat to society. The DCE urged the members to pay their taxes promptly and participate in communal self-help projects. Madam Sarah Biney-Arthur, deputy national organiser of the association who is also the Central Regional coordinator, charged district heads of the association to educate their members to maintain clean environment at all times. Miss Biney-Arthur reminded the members of the national polio immunization exercise scheduled for Saturday and urged the nursing mothers among them to immunize their children against the disease.
