Be guided by code of discipline – Board members of SHSs urged

The Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Mary Owusu Afriyie has admonished Board Members of Senior High Schools (SHSs) to be guided by the Code of Discipline for Senior High Schools, when handling disciplinary cases involving students.

She said when the nature of the case calls for the dismissal of a student, the recommendation of the Board must be referred to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service through the Regional Director for final approval, while the affected student is in the interim, placed on suspension.

Madam Owusu Afriyie gave the advice at the inauguration of a 13-member reconstituted Board of Governors for the T. I Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Kumasi.
