Bawumia Celebrates Eid In Tamale, Ends Ramadan Tour

The New Patriotic Party Vice Presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Sunday joined thousands of fellow Muslims in the Tamale Metropolis to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr to mark end of the month long Ramadan fast.

Dr. Bawumia, who had been in the metropolis since Friday joined worshippers, led by the Regional Chief Imam, at the Jubilee Park early Sunday morning for prayers to end the fast

In a message released earlier by the NPP Running Mate to congratulate fellow Muslims countrywide on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, he was hopeful that the sacrifices undertaken would lead to bountiful rewards in the personal lives of Muslims as well as in their communities and the nation at large.

“I also do hope that though we have come to the end of this sacred period, we would carry on with the supreme virtues of peace, forgiveness, good neighborliness, fellow feeling generosity and support for each other in our communities and the nation“ the statement added.

Dr. Bawumia was accompanied by Sheik T.D. Damba, NPP National Vice-Chairman, Mustapha Hamid, Spokesperson to Nana Akufo-Addo, Mohammed Amin Anta, former MCE of the Tamale Metropolis and a host of others.

Dr. Bawumia after leaving the Jubilee Park paid visits to a number of Imams and leaders of the Muslim Community in the Tamale metropolis to thank them for their continuous support and prayers and to appeal to them to continue to do so.

The Vice-Presidential Candidate also paid a visit to the Tamale Children’s Home where he donated a number of items to the children of the home.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia arrived in the Northern Regional Capital on the 6th and final leg of his Ramadan tour on Friday from Teechiman. The Ramadan tour saw the NPP Vice-Presidential candidate visit numerous Mosques and Zongo communities in the Winneba, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Kumasi, Techiman and Tamale afforded Dr. Bawumia the opportunity to fraternize and interact with many Muslims and seek their prayers.

On arrival in Tamale, Dr. Bawumia joined worshippers at the White Mosque for Jummah Prayers and joined fellow Muslims at the Masjidul Qudwa Mosque to listen to the Tafsir of Sheik Aminu Bamba.

At all the Mosques visited, Dr. Bawumia sought the prayers of the Imams and the Muslim community in general for Allah’s guidance and blessings for the Nation as it prepares for the December General Elections and for National development, progress and peace.
