Bar operators, food vendors schooled on basic hygiene

Kranka (B/A) July 18, GNA – Mr Hayford Ababio, Chairman of the Brong-Ahafo Regional chapter of the Ghana Caterers Association has called on the general public to stop eating cold food to guard against contracting cholera and diarrhea.

Mr Ababio made the call when he addressed chop bar operators, drinking bar attendants and other food vendors at a workshop on good business practices and customer care at Kranka in the Nkoranza North District.

He expressed concern about the outbreak of cholera in some parts of the country and urged the participants to keep their surroundings clean at all times.

“Since life depends on food, sellers must be extra careful and ensure that they prepare food in hygienic conditions to guarantee the safety of their customers”, Mr Ababio advised.

The regional chairman entreated food vendors to cover their meals properly against flies and urged drinking bar attendants to also wash their glasses regularly.

M. Ababio appealed to chop bar owners to establish a cordial working relationship with their workers to enable them to offer good services to the public.
