Bad roads: Nsakina residents burn tyres, block roads

Residents of Nsakina in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, on Monday, October 15, 2018 staged a protest to draw the government’s attention to the poor road network in the area and the need for urgent action to fix them.

The residents say they are fed up with promises to fix it and have threatened to vote out the government and the Member of Parliament for the area if nothing is done about it soon.

The angry residents, as part of their protest, blocked the roads and set car tyres ablaze.

Their action caused a gridlock.

It took the intervention of the police to clear the roads for traffic to flow.

Meanwhile, MP for the area, Emmanuel Nii Okai Laryea, has blamed the current government for the problem, saying the project stalled the moment the Mahama administration was voted out of office.
