Baafi Guiseppine is Miss Ghana 2013

A 22-year-old student of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Baafi Guiseppine was on Sunday morning crowned Miss Ghana 2013.

She beat 19 other ladies to the coveted title of Miss Ghana 2013, becoming the 31st person to wear the crown of what is the country’s most respected and highly patronized pageant.

The second and third positions were won by Margaret Kuma Mintah (22) and Crystal Selorm Amudzi (20), both, students of the University of Ghana.

All twenty finals put up a good show but Guiseppine proved a tough competitor on the night.

She takes over from Miss Naa Okailey Shooter who represents Ghana at this year’s Miss World event in Indonesia on September 28.

She goes home with a brand new car, a year’s ambassadorial service with the Miss Ghana Foundation, one-year accommodation at the Miss Ghana House, a cash prize of GHC 3000, and mouth-watering souvenirs from sponsors among other exciting packages.

She also gets to represent Ghana at next year’s Miss World.

The first and second runner-ups will also get official cars each to be used during their reign, live in the Miss Ghana House, and a cash reward of GHC 2000 and GHC 1500 among other packages.

Other award winners include:

Top Model – Safoa Eisenhower, Miss Photogenic – Crystal Selorm Amudzi, Best Skin – Margaret Kuma Mintah, Miss Congeniality, Most Disciplined – Crystal, Miss Bikini – Guiseppine, Miss Eloquence – Angela Anwity, Top Talent – Matilda Kiki Sefakor and Beauty With A Purpose – Michelle Addo and Margaret Kuma Mintah.

All twenty finalists will receive special prizes and souvenirs from sponsors.

A colourful event, which had in attendance the reigning Miss World Wenxia Yu, Miss Julia Morley, Chairwoman of the Miss World Organization as well as some leading public officials including former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, and former franchise holder Reginald Laryea, Saturday’s grand finals/Charity Ball was replete with entertainment.

Musicians Kwabena Kwabena, Steve Bedi and Sherifa Gunu dished out some of their popular and latest collections to the delight of patrons.

A stunning musical performance by outgoing Miss World Wenxia Yu set off what would later become a night full of glitz and glamour.

It was sponsored by Manet Properties, National Lottery Authority (NLA), IPMC, Global Access, Special Ice, Unique Floral, Mirage Royal Hotel, Simbins Furniture, ATL, FC Skin and Beauty Klinik, Chocho Industries, Mido Productions, Steve Adusei Photography, Hair Senta, ABC, and BelLuchi Couture among other donors.
