BNI should probe Inusah Fuseini if necessary - Minority Chief Whip

Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak has said it is ‘surprising’ that the former Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Inusah Fuseini left the ‘spying’ device in his office after he left post.

Muntaka had expressed shock at the former minister’s admission that he has indeed planted the device, which was a allegedly a gift from a friend.

According to Muntaka, Mr. Fuseini should not have left the device behind, since the office was given to his successor Nii Osah Mills, before it taken over by the new minister John Peter Amewu.

In a report by Starr FM, the Minority Chief Whip indicated that the former minister be called in for questioning, if the Bureau of National Investigation thought it necessary.

Earlier this week, a secret audio-visual recorder device was discovered by security operatives in a huge Coat of Arms plaque hanging in the office of the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, John Peter Amewu.

The device setup also included a camera, a storage unit and a transmitter said to be picking a whisper at a distance of 35-feet away. Inusah Fuseini admitted planting the device but insists, it never worked since the installation process was never completed.

The discovery of the device has put the former Lands minister on blast by several members of the government, as well as his own party members.

Among his critics is the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Allotey Jacobs, who said Mr. Fuseini was wrong to plant the device without alerting the relevant security agencies.
