Bisease (C/R), Feb 19, GNA - Mr Mark H. Mensah, Headmaster of Bisease Senior High Secondary Commercial School, has commended the school's Parent/Teachers Association (PTA) for its support in the development of the school. This was at the handing over of keys to a new school bus and a poly tank valued at 18, 77.70 Ghana cedis to the headmaster by the PTA chairman Mr John J. Amoah. He praised Mr J. N. Okyere, Board Chairman, Arthur Baiden, a parent and Ato Forson, Member of Parliament for the area, for their contributions that had enable the school to provide a 100- room hostel for boys on the school compound.

At the annual a general PTA meeting held earlier in the day, some members expressed their support for the four-year senior high school programme and appealed to the government to embrace the idea. The PTA members appealed to the government not to drag the Ghana Education Service and Ministry of Education into partisan politics, adding that the change from four years to three would do more harm than good. They said attention should be focused on infrastructure, equipment, qualified tutors, textbooks and motivated packages and not years.
