A Deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Edem Agbana was given the beatings of his life by military men stationed at the Legon campus over the Ayawaso Wuogon B-elections, MyNewsGh.com has filed.

The firebrand NDC youth leader was part of numerous NDC members and functionaries allegedly beaten by a combined team of official security and disguised vigilantes believed to be aligned to the ruling party.

Mr Agbana who is a former Students Representative Council President of the Univeristy of Ghana was strategically placed on the University campus by the NDC to monitor the election across all polling stations on campus.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram was also heavily beaten by a group of masked gun men who stormed the Bawaleshie polling station where Mr Sam George was an agent.

The National Chairman of the NDC has said Armed security men besieged their candidate’s home for which reason they can no longer guarantee the security of “our people and our polling agents”.

“We have conferred with our candidate, Delali Kwesi Brempong and he is traumatized by the incident. We also do not believe a single life should be lost in this by-election so we have withdrawn from the process,“ he added.

Just hours into the by-election, some armed men clothed in National Security apparel stormed the La Bawalashie Presby polling station. Eyewitnesses say the armed men fired shots and attacked some agents believed to be opposition NDC agents.
