Availability of jobs only remedy to Political Vigilantism – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has reiterated his stance that Political Vigilantism in the country can only be addressed when there are adequate jobs for the teeming unemployed youth of the country.

Political Vigilante groups under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since the government took over power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have engaged in several acts of lawlessness.

Their lawlessness has been generally condemned by people in government and opposition and has painted the New Patriotic Party Black.

But addressing the media at the Flagstaff House today, the President indicated that he is worried by the activities of the Political Vigilante Groups across the country adding that their actions are very distasteful.

He indicated that the security agencies should be up and doing in curbing the menace of political vigilantism but noted that it could be put to rest only when the teeming unemployed youth are provided with the needed jobs.

Meanwhile, the President during the NPP National Delegates Conference in Kumasi last year said his government has laid down a better foundation that will help create and provide the youth with jobs in his second year in government.
