Australian Installed Chief in Central Region

An Australian national was, last Saturday, installed Nkosuohene of Agona Kwanyako in the Agona District of the Central Region. This took place at the annual Akwambo festival of the chiefs and people of the area.

At a colorful ceremony witnessed by the central regional minister, Hon Isaac Edumadze, the Agona District Chief Executive, Mr. John Agyabeng, a large number of chiefs and people, including foreigners, Nana Kofi Tony I swore the oath of allegiance to the paramount chief.

The Minister and the District Chief Executive used the opportunity to attack the policies of the previous government. They stated that the attitude, character and the way of life of some NDC top officials scared investors away from Ghana during the eight-year period the party ruled.

Eight months into the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), so many investors have expressed confidence in it and the willingness to invest in the country, they said.

Throwing more light on the assertion, Agyabeng explained that President John Kufuor is a peaceful leader whose way of life can be seen as an embodiment of peace.
