The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, is scheduled to meet with the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, led by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide the Attorney General with a detailed briefing on the information the team has gathered so far.

Dr. Ayine explained that this information would serve as a foundation for building cases, once his office collects sufficient evidence to support the information provided by the ORAL committee.

“Essentially, the ORAL Committee and I will be meeting sometime next week, where they will brief me on what they have gathered so far. Of course, I will take over the information they have compiled. However, it is important to note that information is different from evidence that can be used in a court of law,” he told the media after his swearing-in ceremony.

President John Dramani Mahama, before his inauguration, disclosed that he had received an overwhelming amount of information concerning corruption-related matters.

As a result, he appointed a five-member team, led by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to gather information on issues related to corruption and state capture by the previous government.

However, the minority in Parliament has described the formation of the committee as illegal and contrary to Ghanaian law.
