Attorney General aplologizes to BNI

Accra, Oct 25, GNA - The tussle over the whereabouts of the docket on an alleged case of embezzlement against one Nicholas Sakyi of the Kumasi Urban Roads was put to rest on Thursday following an apology by the Attorney General saying the document had been with his outfit.

Mr Joe Ghartey, Attorney General and Minister of Justice, who had blamed the purported missing of the docket on Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) investigators, conceded he was misinformed by his officers.

"The docket is in my office; we apologise unreservedly to the BNI," Mr Ghartey said at Thursday's sitting of the Public Accounts Committee in Accra.
The Committee was hearing a report of the Auditor General in which one Sakyi of the Kumasi office of the Department of Urban Roads was alleged to have embezzled 4.3 billion cedis public money.
