Atimatim to get health centre

Mr William Owuraku Aidoo, Member of Parliament (MP) for Afigya-Kwabre South, has cut the sod to begin the construction of a health centre for the people of Atimatim, in the Afigya-Kwabre District.

The GH¢ 190,000 facility would have male, female, and children’s wards, consulting rooms, and facilities for administration, maternal and child health, among others.

It is expected to be completed within two years.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Aidoo said quality health care delivery had been one of his priorities as MP.

He appealed to the chiefs and people in the area to show keen interest in the project to ensure its early completion.

Madam Hannah Annan, District Director of Health Services, said Atimatim, which had become a sprawling urban community with about 20,000 people, required a well-equipped health facility to cater for the health needs of the people.

She thanked the MP for supporting health care and pledged the support of the Ghana Health Services to ensure the successful completion of the project.

Nana Kofi Acheampong, chief of Atimatim, pledged the support of the chiefs and people in the area towards the project so that they could have easy access to health care delivery.
