Accra, Aug. 15, - The Accra market today hit an all-time high as manufacturing and real estate equities extended their gains on the market. The market indicator went up by 5.78 points to close trading to 408.40. The previous high was 402.62 recorded this August 13, while the all-time low of 55.49, was recorded on May 17, 1991. Analysts say the market is in for a good time adding ''our market will again be breaking new grounds in the financial market in Sub-Saharan Africa''. ''The total performance of the equities listed, slowing down of inflation and stabilisation of the cedi are all indicators," a dealer noted. Total shares demanded again by far outweighed supply with demand standing at 3,759,650 while supply was 276,250. Investors demanded 3.1 million shares of Pioneer Tobbaco Company (PTC), but only 24,000 was supplied. The total number of shares traded was down at 44,150 compared to Wednesday's 153,300. Market capitalisation, buoyed by appreciations of six major equities, jumped to 2,884.56 billion cedis from 2,876.07 billion cedis. The one cedi drop in Mobil Oil Ghana Limited (MOGL) did not affect the market. In the broader market. six equities gained with one loser. Aluworks Company Limited (ALW), which this week declared over 50 per cent profit in its half year report, chalked a significant 100- cedi gain to close at 1,300 cedis. Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) continued its winning streak gaining 40 cedis to close at 670 cedis. The Bank which sold the highest number of shares today - 12,800 - gained 50 cedis this week. Home Finance Company (HFC) and Pioneer Aluminium Factory appreciated by five cedis each to finish at 165 cedis and 155 cedis respectively. PZ gained 10 cedis to close the week at 310 cedis while Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC) had two cedis to close at 572 cedis. MOGL was the only loser. It dropped one cedi to end at 5,999 cedis.
