The Headmaster for Asuasu D/A Basic School in the Upper West Akim District, Mr Francis Addo-Larbi said lack of school feeding programme in the school has caused a reduction in enrolment.

He said many guardians and parents in the area were illiterates and did not see the need to send their wards to school.

The Headmaster made the appeal when Madam Hajara Amadu, Constituency Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party donated some learning materials to the school.

The items included; books, pens and pencils and also cut the sod to commence the construction of a Kindergarten for the school.

Mr Addo-Larbi, therefore, appealed to the authorities involved in the School Feeding Programme in the district to extend the programme to the school in order to get more children enrolled.
