Asuansi residents appeal to gov’t to construct the road

Residents of Asuansi in Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District of the Central Region have made a passionate appeal to government to, as a matter of urgency, construct the road from Abakrampa to Asuansi through Nyamedom to enable them to transport their farm produce easily to the market.

Assembly member Stephen Amo-Nyarkoh said,"we usually find it difficult to get to town with our farm produce when there is heavy downpour.

“Many oranges get rotten whenever we are in the rainy season because no truck would want to come and load the goods," he said.

An orange trader, Maame Afua Aidoo, complained bitterly about the nature of their roads fuming, "we voted for NDC with the hope that our roads would be tarred but till date we have not heard anything from them" and queried, "Have they forgotten us so soon?"

Asuansi, a town with over five thousand inhabitants, is well noted for the cultivation of different kinds of citrus, such as sweet orange and tangerine.
