Ahmed Abdullia, the Assemblyman for the Kwesi Plange Electoral Area in Tema, has assured residents that no students were injured following a fatal helicopter crash at the premises of TMA Daycare.
He made the assurance in an interview with the media on Monday, March 16, 2026, after visiting the crash site.
“When we arrived at the scene, we saw a lot of iron rods. This has never happened in Tema before.

“The school here is being constructed as part of a new system because the mayor wanted to develop this area. Construction had already started before this incident, but I hope it won’t affect the students. We did our best to ensure the kids are safe,” he noted.
At least two individuals, including a pilot on board, are feared dead following the crash.
The incident prompted an immediate response from the Ghana National Fire Service, who rushed to extinguish the flames.
With support from the Ghana Police Service, emergency personnel retrieved the charred bodies of the victims.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
