Assembly provides school infrastructure for six communities

Bibiani(WR), May 2, GNA - Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai (BAB) District Assembly has provided school infrastructure for six communities at an estimated cost of GH¢58,000 to improve teaching learning. They were six classroom blocks each at Aboabo and Sefwi Bethlehem and three classroom blocks each at Sefwi Bekwai, Nzema Nkwanta, Subiri and Abosuabo. Mr Kingsley Adjei Manu, Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Chief Executive announced this at its first ordinary meeting at Bibiani on Wednesday. He said the projects at Bethlehem and Aboabo were financed by GETFUND as well as a six classroom block under construction at Merewa that had reached lintel level.

Mr Manu said eight communities had been connected to the National Grid under the Self Help Electrification Project. They included Kwaku Krom, Nsiah Krom and Bethlehem. He said some feeder roads in the district would be rehabilitated to facilitate movement of people and foodstuffs to marketing centres. Some on-going projects are rehabilitation of the 10.8 kilometre Lineso Junction road-Mframakrom, the four-kilometre Awaso town roads and the 10-kilometre Pataboso Junction-Chirano Subiri Junction. Mr Manu said the assembly was determined to ensure accelerated development of the district and appealed to assembly members to mobilize the necessary financial and material resources in their communities to achieve the objective.
