Mausoleum of the late President John Evans Atta Mills has been taken over by sex workers Asempanews.com has learned.
The facility with a fish pond, geese, ostriches, guinea fowls and rabbit farms, which could pass as a recreational centre has been abandoned and left at the mercy of the weather, cattle and trespassers.
Even more disturbing is the fact that the building meant to serve as a library at the park has been turned into a sex hub, as the fence around the park has collapsed leaving the facility open to hawkers and vagrants.
According to our source, people come from far and near to indulge in sexual acts at the facility.
“We come to meet condoms lying all over the place every day. Sometimes, we catch people red-handed indulging in the act and we drive them away. The young and old all come here to do their things and we do not even know where they come from,” security guards lament.
Our source, however, hinted that government has released funds to give the facility a facelift as it plans the commemoration of the sixth anniversary of the late president.
“About two weeks ago, the government deployed artisans, including welders, electricians and carpenters, here to take inventory at the place.
“Funds have been released to keep the place in good condition for the sixth anniversary which would be held here,” our source disclosed.
