Chief of the Fulani Community in the Ashanti Region has commended Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government for setting up its first cattle ranch in the Afram Plains to solve the clash between nomadic herdsmen and farmers.

According to Osman bin Ahmad, the establishment of the cattle ranch will deal with what has become known as ‘Fulani herdsmen menace’ and also create employment.

“I’m commending the government for the establishment of cattle ranches across the country, bringing the cattle together will help us produce more, create more jobs and also reduce the conflicts between the Fulanis and the people in the country.

“ I will to encourage all my colleagues to embrace this initiative for the betterment of the country,” he said. President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during his tour this week of the Volta Region announced that his government has established one of its first cattle ranch in the Afram Plains.

The establishment of the cattle ranch is in fulfilment of a pledge during the 2016 elections as part of his broad solution to check the Fulani herdsmen menace.

President Akufo-Addo also said that suitable locations have been selected across the country for the establishment of more cattle ranches in order to eliminate the conflict between the Fulani herdsmen and the people communities and to avoid desecration of lands.
