Delegates from the various wards and branches of the Asawase constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Saturday met to elect their constituency executives. The programme which was held at the Asawase community centre saw a total of 240 delegates voting.
Ahmed Abubakar retained his position as chairman with Joseph Bole secretary and one Alhaji Anyass , treasurer , winning their positions unopposed. The youth organizer position went to Yusif Amudu, women organizer-Hajia Ajara, and propaganda Secretary-Yakubu Tony Aidoo.
Adams Zachariah, Administrator of the NDC Ashanti Regional Zongo caucus who spoke to this reporter urged that members of the NDC with the constituency to remain united, adding that it was unnecessary for winners of the election to jubilate in such a way as to taunt others who lost. “In the final analysis, it is the party that has emerged victorious”, he said.
He went ahead to urge Ghanaians to exercise patience and remain assured that the president, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills will deliver on all his campaign promises and indeed make Ghana a better place than he inherited.
Mr. Adams encouraged Ghanaians to rather pray for the president to enable him work for the general good of Ghanaians.
