Asantehene, former Presidents congratulate Lawrence Tetteh on canonization

Former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor and John Mahama; and Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, have congratulated Reverend Dr Lawrence Tetteh, World Renowned Evangelist, on his canonization by the Anglican Church.

Dr Tetteh, who is also an economist, was appointed Honorary Canon of the Anglican Church, also known in the United Kingdom (UK) as the Church of England, at a grand service in Kumasi over the weekend.

The congratulation from the statesmen and the King of the Ashanti Kingdom were contained in goodwill messages to Dr Tetteh at the service.

The service was attended by people from all walks of life including the Israeli Ambassador, Baihj Masour and Hungary Ambassador Szabo Andras.

Dr Nii Kotei Dzani , Member of Council of State chaired the ceremony, which was officiated by Most Rev Professor Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, the Primate and Metropolitan Archbishop of the West African Pprovince at the St. Cyprian’s Anglican Cathedral and Rev Dr Elvis Acheampong, the Dean of the Cathedral.

In his acceptance speech, Dr Tetteh thanked the Anglican fraternity for the great honour done to him.

He admonished Ministers of God and Leaders to be patient, humble, honest, prayerful and teachable in their field of work.

Mr Osei Assibey Antwi, the Mayor of Kumasi and Mr Daniel Akuffo, the Mayor of Shai Osudoku, attended the ceremony.
