Asante Kotoko has not submitted any bid for Latif Anabila - Ashgod C.E.O

Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold SC, Emmanuel Frimpong has refuted media reportage that regional rivals Asante Kotoko has presented a bid for their midfielder Latif Anabila.

Anabila, who is regarded as one of the best midfielders on the local scene has been on the radar of the Porcupine Warriors for the past two seasons but they have failed to capture his signature in previous years.

With his current contract with the Miners set to run out in the next six months, there have been several reports that Kotoko has sent an official bid to the Obuasi based club for the services of Anabila and the deal will be closed in the coming days.

However, new C.EO Emmanuel Frimpong in an interview with Kumasi based Fox Fm revealed that Kotoko had not gotten back to them with any figure after they had a verbal agreement with his father who is also the President of the club Dr. Kweku Frimpong.

“I have not had any contact with officials from Kotoko on Latif Anabila. Dr. Kwaku Frimpong (Champion) had a verbal agreement with Kotoko but that is way back even before COVID-19.”

“As of now, nobody has come to me or Dr. Kwaku Frimpong with any offer for Anabila. Our doors are opened and Kotoko is a family so if they are to come now, no problem with that. We can agree on something.”

He added that his outfit is also poised on renewing the contract of the player to ward of any interest from rival clubs.

“By the way, we are also discussing with him on a contract renewal to ward off any interest from rival clubs"
