Youth in the Asante Akyem District of the Ashanti Region have commended their District Chief Executive (DCE), Francis Oti Boateng for attacking the District Police Commander in the area, ASP Samuel Azuga.

The DCE reportedly stormed the official residence of District Police Commander in the company of military men, threatening to manhandle him while his wife and while his kids looked on renewing some tensions between members of the community and Fulani herdsmen as over 50 cattle were shot by military officers deployed by the District Security Council.

The youth in press statement signed by Alfred Gyimah and Emmanuel Buabeng commended the DCE, traditional rulers and New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives in the area for their wherewithal and commitment to fight the cattle menace there.

“We wish to acknowledge the efforts of Agogo Traditional Council, Agogoman Mma Kuo, Agogo Farmers Association, Agogo Worldwide Association, All Stakeholders and the entire Agogo Community for their joint efforts in fighting this common course”.

“With the help of the current NPP government, we have now seen the action been taken and we are urging the DCE not to relent on his efforts to evacuate all the cattle from our farmlands”, they appealed.

“We are in the support of this fight to see the total evacuation of these herdsmen from Agogo and we urge our DCE and all stakeholders to join in this fight and should not kowtow to any internal or external influence to retreat or surrender from this course”. They said.
