Asante Akim North MP Holds Forum

The MP for Asante Akim North, Mr. Baah-Wiredu, has had open forums with inhabitants of some communities in his Constituency. They include Dwease, Praso, Nsiakrom, Peposo, Boatengkrom and Konongo-Odumase. At Dwease, Mr. Baah-Wiredu assured the people that the town and four other communities, Praso, Akutuase, Pekyerekye and Wioso would be connected to the national electricity grid. They should therefore start wiring their houses. On the poor nature of the road from Dwease to Konongo and other urban towns, Mr.Baah Wiredu told the people that he will be in touch with the Department of Feeder Roads and the Ghana Highway Authority on its early rehabilitation to enhance the evacuation of farm produce and passengers. At Nsiakrom, the MP inspected the 265 million cedi road linking the town. He was not happy about the work of the contractor and suggested that more gravels should be put on it. Drains should also be constructed to prevent erosion of the road. At Boatengkrom, the inhabitants appealed to the District Assembly to rehabilitate the five bridges on the road linking the town to Dwease. At Konongo-Odumase, Mr. Baah Wiredu urged the District Assembly to speed up the clearing of a heap of refuse at Freetown-Congo, a suburb of Konongo to improve sanitation there. He asked the Assembly to compel landlords in the Central Business Center of the town to provide places of convenience in their houses. gri
