..against Deputy Minister
Impeccable information reaching The Herald reveals that ex-Information Minister, Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, who is seeking to return to Parliament is busily pushing into the public domain, a sex video against his opponent, the Deputy Central Regional Minister, Aquinas Tawiah-Quansah, in an effort to scandalize him and recapture the Mfantsiman West Constituency seat.
Excerpts of the sex video which is on the internet, according to family sources, was taped by a former student of Sunyani Polytechnic, called Asantewaah, an ex-girlfriend of the Deputy Minister, over a year ago, as an instrument of blackmail to extort cash from him.
The sex tape is currently in circulation on social media platforms including Facebook. Portions of the video watched on the internet, shows the dark-skinned Asantewaah, vigorously sucking on the manhood of the Mfantsiman West Member of Parliament (MP) after which the two had a hot bout of sex. It lasted seven minutes.
But The Herald is informed that the actual video is about 35 minutes, and it was shot from different angles by somebody “who is really a professional”.
Mr. Asamoah-Boateng, alias “Asa B”, who is running for the seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is said to have laid hands on the sex video and is said to be busily using it against the man who unseated him from Parliament, to score political advantage.
Mr. Tawiah Quansah, who is also the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Mfantsiman West, said he suspected his political opponents were behind the ploy.
“Asamoah Boateng started talking about it. He called Abeiku Santana about him having some tape and that kind of thing but I denied it,” he said in an interview with XYZ News’ host, Farida Khailann.
Abeiku Santana, radio presenter cum journalist, who spoke to The Herald, yesterday, confirmed receiving a telephone call from Mr. Asamoah-Boateng on the video, but he told him to go ahead and score his cheap political points with the video.
Asantewaah is said to have recently being demanding money from the Mfantsiman West MP using the video as a tool.
Sources close to the MP, told The Herald that there were many attempts including meetings at the Busy Internet near Kwame Nkrumah Circle, in Accra, to prevail upon the lady to drop the issue but she was adamant, insisting on getting the cash.
Asantewaah is said to have first posted an audio version of their sexual act on a USB (pen drive) to the MP, when he served as a Deputy Ministry at the Local Government and Rural Development Ministry.
The sound which was posted by the lady through DHL is said to have captured the two moaning and groaning while in the act.
As late as November last year, Asantewaah was said to have even cooked for the MP and some friends when they attended the Sunyani National Delegates Congress of the NDC, that elected the late Professor John Mills as and flagbearer.
Asantewaah is said to be involved in the blackmail expedition with a young man, whom she describes as her cousin.
The Herald is informed the two have also been taped demanding cash to destroy the tape.
The Deputy Minister in the radio interview said “I don’t think it is me”.
He has threatened legal action against anyone found to be behind the story.
Mr. Quansah said “I don’t know anything about any video. I am even driving to go see my lawyer because about three guys have called me already.”
Asked whether he was the one in the tape, Mr. Quansah said “I have not seen it myself though but I don’t think it is me.”
Mr. Asamoah-Boateng, on his part, confirmed hearing about the video, only yesterday, through a TV journalist, a certain Richard Ofei with TV3, but was yet to watch it, and denied circulating any such video.
He also confirmed calling Abeiku Santana about the video, but said he did so only because he had heard the radio presenter was going round negotiating on behalf of the MP to get him out of the scandal.
Mr. Asamoah-Boateng, who also spoke to The Herald in a telephone conversation yesterday, said he called the radio presenter purely on friendship basis because he and his ex-wife, Margaret, have been his friends for years.
The ex-Information Minister insisted that he had what it took to beat Mr. Tawiah Quansah and needed not to resort to anything sinister to unseat him, adding he was extra vigilant this time round unlike in 2008 when was he took things for granted, allowing the current MP to have access to the seat.
He spoke to the paper in the Mfantsiman West, where he is currently campaigning.
