Armed robbers kill cargo truck driver

Alhaji Issaka Ibrahim, driver of a cargo truck loaded with maize, was shot and killed on Thursday night when he bumped into an armed robbery gang on the Kintampo-Tamale road.

The robbers had earlier attacked and robbed traders on 20 vehicles on the same road at gunpoint, making away with millions cedis. Mr Stephen Bomfeh, Kintampo District Chief Executive said on Sunday that the gang carried out the operation between 12pm on Thursday and 2qm on Friday. No arrest had been made and the police were investigating.
