Armed Robbers Raid NPP Youth Organiser's Home

ARMED ROBBERS have raided and ransacked the Abelenkpe residence of Anthony Abayirifa Karbo, the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The robbers made away with valuables worth several millions of cedis. According to Karbo, the robbers broke into the house through a sliding glass window deep in the night on Wednesday when he was asleep.

They stole 3 laptop computers, an ipad, 2 blackberry phones, passports, a Sony sound system, a number of shoes, 2 pen drives, an amount of $700, GH¢600, cheque books, a gold and silver watches.

Interestingly, they broke a framed portrait picture of the NPP Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, which stood in the hall. Karbo, who was then sleeping in his bedroom, escaped unhurt and has since reported the incident to the Kotobabi police station for investigations.

The incident comes days after Karbo toured the three northern regions where he launched scathing attacks on the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for unfulfilled promises.

It also comes a month after a Deputy Director of Communications for the party, Sammy Awuku’s vehicle was broken into. The thieves made away with his laptop and other valuables. Some have raised questions into such attacks on the personalities involved, wondering whether they had any political motives.

Karbo could only thank God for his life but insisted that “this would not deter me from carrying out my duties”.

“If they think that this is what would make some of us keep quiet from the things going in the country then I’m sorry, they must revise their notes because we will continue to make our views and opinions known and heard no matter how unpalatable they maybe to our detractors,” he added.

He stressed, “I remain resolute and will never give up.”
