Apam SHS 1998 year group refurbishes school's dining hall as part of 20th Anniversary

The 1998 year group of the Apam Senior High School, (ASSOSA) has marked its 20th anniversary of completing their great Secondary School with an impressive and colourful ceremony.

The event brought together most of the students who graduated from Apam Senior High School in 1998 and are successfully contributing to the Ghanaian society and the world at large in diverse forms.

Old student associations of various institutions in Ghana have continued to contribute significantly to infrastructure development if their Alma mater.

Indeed, such old student associations formed from years of completion has served as a channel of complimenting efforts of governments in solving various challenges that have bedevilled their Alma matter.

The 1998 year group of Apam Senior High school ASSOSA has various year group associations from the very year the school was established till date.

As part celebrations of its 20th anniversary of completing Apam Senior High School, the 1998 year group of the school took on the responsibility to upgrade and expand the school's dining hall facility which was hitherto in a bad state and smaller in capacity for the growing demand of boarding facilities in the school.

Handing over the newly refurbished and expanded dining hall building to the management of the school,
the President of the 1998 year group Ben Lord Gaise, said the initiative started when his team had some discussions with the management of the school on one of the school pressing needs.

He said upon deliberations, they settled on expanding the dining hall since the school enrollment is high and the students attend dining section in batches which is a major challenge to academic work.

He said this motivated the 1998 year group to mobilize resources for the project which cost GH¢25,000 and handed over to the management of the school on the anniversary day.

The District Chief Executive of Gomoa West Bismark Baise Nkum applauded the 1998 year group for the initiative and said it would go a long way to complement government`s efforts on educational infrastructure.

He assured the school of government’s commitment to ensuring every school child has access to quality education through the free SHS flagship programme and continues upgrading of educational infrastructure.
