‘Anti-loan Bawumia now swimming in loans’ – Baba Jamal

Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia once jabbed the NDC government over excessive borrowing

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia, Baba Jamah, has accused Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of chasing loans around the globe even though he was against loans before the New Patriotic Party (NPP) won the 2016 elections.

According him, Dr Bawumia criticised the then-Mahama-led administration for over-borrowing and said “he does not like loans but now he is swimming in loans. If you are here and you make a mistake and announce that you are giving loans, before daybreak, Dr Bawumia will be at your door step to take loans for Ghana”.

“Someone who says he dislikes loans, now it is loans he uses to bathe, eat and rise from bed,” the former Deputy Employment and Labour Relations Minister said during an address to members of the NDC in Kumasi on Saturday, 28 April 2018, during the party’s Unity Walk.

He added that the turn-up for the Unity Walk is a harbinger for victory in the 2020 polls.
