Another divestiture scandal.

After the problems associated with the divestiture of the Automotive and Technical Services to SABAT Motors, another storm is brewing at the former Ghamot Company now called Toyota Ghana. According to our investigations due to a clause agreed on by the Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare to pay workers 25 percent of the total value for the sale of the company cracks are beginning to appear between the Divestiture Implementation Committee, the Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare and the workers. With the 25 percent agreed on, the DIC would have to pay some 200 workers about 150 million cedis per head. This DIC says is virtually impossible to meet. Meanwhile as a result of this the Executive Secretary has been threatened with death.
