Anonymous person donates bus to NPP

Ms. Ama Busia, First National Vice-Chairman and Mrs. Rhodelene Baffour-Gyimah, a member of the national campaign team both of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Thursday jointly presented a V.W. Bus and a cheque for 18 million cedis to the women's wing of the party for the 2000 electioneering campaign.

Ms. Busia said an anonymous person donated the vehicle, while the money came from party supporters to assist in its campaign especially in the rural areas for the December elections. She said the assistance was as a result of the nation wide fund-raising tour she embarked on.

She said the gifts are in fulfilment of pledges by the donors and expressed the hope that other members and supporters would also contribute in kind and cash towards the cause of the party.

"The fight ahead of us is a difficult one and those of us in the front line need all the help we can get.

Times are hard but like they say "ketewaa biaa nsua"(no contribution is too small), she added. Mr Samuel Odoi Sykes National Chairman of the party acknowledged with thanks the donors' gesture as he received the keys to the vehicle and the cheque.

He said it was a worthy contribution towards the party's effort to win the elections. Present at the ceremony were the party's flag bearer, Mr John Agyekum Kufuor and other executive members.
