Some angry youth in Yeji in the Bono East Region have attacked a police station in the area and freed a suspect who happens to be the manager of Alive FM, who had been arrested and held in custody.

The police said that his arrest and detention was upon instructions from above and would not give any reasons.

But later, it was discovered that Mr Felix Kwabena Nimarko was arrested and held in the police station for allegedly inciting some youth of the area against the District Chief Executive (DCE), Joshua Kweku Abonkrah over the distribution of premix fuel.

According to sources, the Communication Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had instructed the police to arrest the vocal manager.

The DCE had also reportedly lodged a complaint against the manager who seems to be antagonistic against him.

But the youth of the town mobilised and throng the police station, frightened the police officers away and freed the manager who had been put behind bars from 3:30pm to about 8:30 pm Friday October 25, 2019.

The whereabouts of the manager MyNewsGh.com gathered remains unknown but police in the area have confirmed the incident to this portal.
