Angola to open mission in Ghana

Accra, July 26, GNA - Angola is to open a mission in Ghana this year following the acquisition of office and accommodation facilities, Mr Euaristo Domingos, Out-going Angolan Ambassador said in Accra on Tuesday.

He said this would be a breakthrough in her country's diplomatic relations with Ghana 30 years after Angola's independence. Mr Domingos, who is based in Abuja, Nigeria, announced this when he paid a farewell call on President John Agyekum Kufuor at the Castle, Osu after a two-and-a-half year duty tour.

President Kufuor said relationship between both countries had improved and the establishment of the Angolan Mission in Ghana would further boost the relationship.

He said "it gladdens our hearts that with the establishment of the mission our relationship will move a step higher not only in diplomatic relations but improvement in business and interaction between peoples from both countries."
