Andre Ayew hoping for a good start with West Ham United

West Ham United ace Andre Ayew has reiterated their readiness for the new Premier League season but admits playing three consecutive games on the road seems a tall order.

The Hammers are set to open their campaign at Old Trafford, taking on Manchester United on Sunday.

Slaven Bilic's outfit then play as guests to Southampton and new boys Newcastle United before having their first taste of home action against Huddersfield Town on September 11.

“It’s difficult for us to start the season already with three away games, so we need to see how we start the season and from there we can start to know where we are,” Ayew said, as reported by his club's official website.

“The best way for us is to start well and if we get a good start I think we’re going to do a good season.

"That’s football. When you start well, it puts you in a positive mindset and gives you the confidence to believe you can do something."

Ayew certainly knows the importance of a good takeoff to their ambitions and the elements necessary to churn out the expected results.

He continued: “We [need to] have a good start this year, we have experienced players and good young players, so we have a good blend.

"I believe the gaffer knows exactly what he wants, we are right behind him.

"We are going to push and see if we can finish as high as we can because the club and the fans deserve to be smiling at the end of the season.”

Ayew joined West Ham on a £20.5 million club record deal in summer last year.

He netted six times in 26 appearances as the Hammers finished 11th last season.
