Anas, Stephen Appiah, others honoured at Allianz Awards

Stephen Appiah, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and Bridgette Sossou Perenyi, a victim to child slavery who is currently a human rights activist were recognised at this year’s Allianz Awards ceremony.

The Former and popular Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah was presented a lifetime achievement award.

Speaking at the ceremony, the soccer legend charged Ghanaians to be innovative and resilient for the development of the nation.

He further urged all individuals to support disabled persons in the society.

Politically non-aligned multimedia investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas was also presented an award for the “brave” category and Brigitte Sossou was presented an award for the “make a difference” category.

The undercover journalist used the platform to challenge journalists to impact the lives of people positively and also help eradicate corruption in the country.

Bridgette on the other hand shared her experiences about being a victim of child slavery. She called on government and individuals to help combat child slavery since the practice still exists in some parts of Northern Ghana.
