The Daily Democrat in publications on 18th and 20th August, 2010 exposed two ladies busted at the restricted area of the Tema Harbour who claimed they were working for Alhaji Malik Kwaku Baako , Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide and his assistant, investigative reporter, Anas Aremeyaw Anas. The two ladies were caught in the act of secretly filming and recording security officers and CEPS officials at restricted areas of the Port.

In those publications, we predicted how Anas’ secret investigations at the Tema port, even though primarily targeted at alleged corrupt CEPS officials working there, was going to be the basis of attack on the Atta Mills-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government by New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding the government’s genuine commitment to fight corruption.

We strongly suspected that Ana’s project had the blessing of some government officials but opponents of government will capitalize on it for mischief because of the kind of relationship that exists between Ana’s and his boss, Kwaku Baako and the NPP.

We were convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that the release of the two secret agent ladies arrested at the port was on the orders of some government officials on the very Wednesday 11th August 2010 they were arrested. We believed that it was highly impossible to embark on such a project involving operating at restricted security areas of the Port by anybody without one form of state protection or the other, unless we want to suggest that our security officers at the Tema Port are daft.

We cautioned the implication for government and Port officials because knowing very well the political affiliation of Mr Kweku Baako and his ‘ boy,’ we suspected the oiutcome of his investigation would be used to undermine the expertise of our hard working security operatives, which will end up affecting their moral and killing initiatives.

Lo and behold, after the completion of the project, Anas went public for reasons best known to him, raising the question of integrity and confidentiality reached with his sponsors.

It is believed that, Anas might have gathered other classified information which he would not disclose to his sponsors.

We published below our full stories on Anas secret recordings of CEPS officials in Tama Port published on 18th and 20th August,2010
