Amewu joins PDS officials to restore light to Krobo residents

Energy Minister, Peter Amewu on Monday afternoon joined officials of the Power Distribution Service, Somanya to restore power to the disconnected communities within the enclave.

This comes after fierce agitations from locals who have been denied electricity for some days now following the standoff with PDS over mass disconnection in the Lower Manya Krobo municipality.

The Minister as part of the schedule paid a courtesy call on Nene Sasraku, the Chief of Kpongunor.

The chief indicated that Krobos have never said anywhere that they will not pay electricity bill as it’s being reported.

He said there was rather an agreement with PDS to collect realistic bill this year while the previous overbilling issue discussed but to their surprise, PDS started disconnection.

He said they’d decided court action against PDS if power had not been restored today.

Meanwhile, John Peter Amewu said government will investigate the clashes at krobo and come out with its report and recommendations and sanction perpetrators.
