Americans build school in West Akyem

Brekumaso (E/R), June 3, GNA - Work has started on an ultra-modern 250,000 United States dollars School Complex for the Islamic Primary School at Brekumaso, near Asamankese being funded by the American Embassy in Ghana. The school will consist of a six-unit classroom block, a library, conference block, kitchen with dinning hall, administration block, toilet and urinal facilities. Mr. Kwabena Sintim-Aboagye, West Akyem Municipal Chief Executive, on Tuesday led Major Tong Vang and Lieutenant Joel McMillan, both officials of the Embassy to inspect the project. The project is being undertaken by Saitama Sel, Civil Engineering Company.

Mr Musah Fusqini Cudjoe, Managing Director of the Company, promised that work would be completed by the beginning of the next academic year in September. To facilitate work on the project, the company has on site a generator and was installing floodlights so that construction can be carried out at night, if need be. Mr. Sintim-Aboagye thanked the embassy for providing such a facility in a rural setting to provide ideal conditions for teaching and learning. Major Vang said the American government, through its embassy in Accra was providing facilities to enhance socio-economic development of Ghana, especially in the field of education. 0
