Amaris terminal, a 100% Ghanaian owned terminal licensed by Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to provide support services such as Terminal Operations, Logistics and transport for the export community has donated some office essentials to the Marine Port and Railways Unit of the Ghana Police to enhance their activities in the port industry.

Alex Atakorah, Managing Director of Amaris Terminal Ltd, said in line with the companies vision of supporting social development, they decided to donate some furniture, computers and other office items to enhance the work of the Marine Police Unit who are key players in maintaining security at the port which is an important national asset.

“We felt that the police was one of the main governing bodies that we thought could benefit from what we wanted to donate. This might not seem much but we believe that it will go a long way to support them,” the MD said.

The Commander of the Marine Police Unit, Chief Superintendent Joseph Ababio, expressed pleasure upon receiving the donations, saying it would contribute tremendously towards the Unit’s daily activities.

“Computers are the way forward. And these are the best we have received so far. It will help us facilitate data processing and help us provide quicker reports,” he expressed.

He urged other corporate organisations and companies to emulate Amaris’ steps for social development.
