Amadia Foundation donates to aged people in Tema

As a way of complementing government's efforts in the fight against the coronavirus, the Amadia Foundation headed by Mrs Nana Ama Duodu distributed some food items to some aged people in Tema.

The items included; rice, oil, tin food, water, and hand sanitizers worth thousands of Ghana cedis were distributed to the senior citizens (aged 60 years and above) in several communities in Tema.

Many workers worldwide have been affected by the spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic and Ghana is no exception with its rippling effects on the cash flow and restrictions placed on society.

Majority of the elderly depend on their family to feed both from home and Abroad

The Chief Executive Officer of the foundation and her team stormed Tema starting from community 7 in front of the Pentecost church

She educated the elderly about their vulnerability to the COVID-19 pandemic and charged them to take hygiene and social distancing seriously as the pandemic is starting to gain grounds in the country.

The convoy of the police patrol, COVID-19 officials the media and the foundation visit the St Marys Maternity Home, and also the community 7 taxi rank areas all in community 7 to educate and give out to the aged whose children can't work due to the lockdown and later went to the Valco Employees Recreational Agency known as (VERA) in (community 4) met up with some old folks in community 8 shell and community 9 basic school.

Amadia Foundation is a non-governmental organization with the vision of alleviating the suffering and hardship of the elderly in society by way of paying hospital bills for neglected elderly people, provide shelter, healthcare for the old and vulnerable in society.
