All is set for NPP delegates' conference in Sekondi

Takoradi, Aug. 11, GNA - All is set for the 16th Annual Delegates Conference of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) scheduled for Sekondi and Takoradi from Friday, August 15 to Sunday August 17. About 1,560 delegates comprising five delegates from each constituency and the Party's foreign branches, 500 special guests and 1,000 observers are expected to attend the conference. Mr Lord Commey, National Organiser of NPP briefing the media at Takoradi on Sunday said the theme for the conference regarded as "very special" because deliberations would focus mainly on the campaign for the December 7 elections was "NPP We Are Moving Forward". He said 3,000 individuals would be given accreditation to attend the conference that would be telecast live on radio and television networks for the benefit of people who would not be there. Mr Commey said on Wednesday, August 13, the National Executive Committee of the Party would meet to deliberate finally on the selection of a running mate for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Flag bearer who would be introduced at the conference.

He said there would be fringe meetings of the various organisations within the Party and out-dooring of the NPP Manifesto. Mr Commey said some Ministers of State would be given the opportunity to account to the people the NPP's achievements in respect of electoral promises at a mammoth rally at Takoradi Polytechnic Park on Saturday.

Side attractions would include hip-life and highlife music shows that would feature various prominent artists in the industry, a gospel show dubbed "Nana Addo praise" aimed at seeking the face of God, and an inter-faith service that would include various religious institutions in the country on Sunday, August 17.
