“Speaking on geopolitical changes and their effect on the African continent and international cooperation, I highlighted the risks and opportunities in today’s fast-paced, multipolar global order, where influence is spread across the United States, China, Russia, the European Union, India, and the expanding BRICS alliance, which now includes Egypt and Ethiopia,” he stated.
Akufo-Addo urged African leaders to diversify partnerships, negotiate better terms, and accelerate economic integration and transformation through mechanisms such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

“With such competition among global powers raging, African nations must avoid becoming an arena of rivalries, where our sovereignty and development aspirations are compromised or subordinated to external interests. Instead, we must be strategic and united, diversifying partnerships, securing better terms, and advancing our own economic integration and transformation agenda through tools like the AfCFTA,” he added.
